    Economy News - Baghdad
    The Independent High Electoral Commission announced today, Monday, that the distribution of voter cards will continue until six in the evening, while calling on 600,000 voters to receive their cards and participate in the general vote.
    A member of the media team at the Election Commission, Hassan Hadi Zayer, said, “Among the Commission’s measures to provide voters with the opportunity to participate in the elections, it kept the voter card distribution process open until six o’clock this evening.”
    Zayer added, “The cards are available in the Karkh and Rusafa offices for Baghdad voters, in addition to voters in the governorates. Their cards are also available in the Commission offices in the governorates and they can receive them to cast their votes.”
    He pointed out that “there are about 600,000 voters who are entitled to receive their cards, and this allows the voter to receive the card even on election day.”
    For his part, member of the media team, Al-Hassan Qabas, said, “Today, more than 7,166 polling stations were opened for the purpose of receiving more than 16 million voters.”
    Qabas confirmed, “The early hours witnessed a small turnout as today is an official holiday, but the turnout will increase as time progresses.”
