    Baghdad - people
On Monday, the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee revealed a parliamentary movement to hold an emergency session in order to vote on a bill criminalizing normalization with Israel, while the committee confirmed the postponement of a large number of laws to the next parliamentary session.

Committee member Bader Al-Ziyadi stated, in an interview with the official channel, and followed by “Nass” (September 27, 2021), that “the House of Representatives was not able to hold a single session despite the presence of many deferred laws, due to the lack of a quorum. There are dozens of laws that were ready to vote if a session was held.” ".

Al-Ziyadi added, "The laws that will be transferred to the next parliament are: the compulsory conscription law, the national security law, and the intelligence law," explaining that "the compulsory conscription law has reached parliament, but I do not think that during the coming period we can legislate this law in addition to other important laws." .

Al-Ziyadi pointed out that "the Security and Defense Committee called for a meeting of the committee's members to discuss some laws, and only 4 deputies attended, due to the preoccupation of most of the deputies with their electoral campaigns."

Al-Ziyadi stressed that "the House of Representatives did not succeed in holding a session, not even later, as yesterday a request was submitted by 60 deputies to hold an emergency session and enact a law criminalizing normalization with Israel."

Regarding the possibility of holding the emergency session, Al-Ziyadi said that "if the political blocs want to hold a session in order to enact a law criminalizing normalization, the session will be held."

Al-Ziyadi pointed out that "there are no controversial clauses in the deferred laws, or negligence by the House of Representatives, but the reason is that 60% of the current parliament members are candidates for the upcoming elections and they are busy campaigning, which has disrupted the work of the parliament."
