    {Local: Al Furat News} The General Authority for Military Industries, affiliated to the Ministry of Industry, intends to open specialized lines for the production of light equipment through the import process and to reduce the needs of the Turkish armed forces through the import process and balloons.
    The head of the Military Industrialization Authority, Muhammad Sahib Al-Darraji, said in a press statement that "the General Authority for Military Industries is working on establishing lines for the production of light equipment and military airships for security purposes, after agreement with the Turkish side in this regard."
    He explained that "the production lines will be established through investment, and include the transfer of Turkish technology to Iraqi production lines, and the manufacturing will be for the purpose of a few local military and military industry supplies."
    And he indicated that "the Military Industrialization Authority seeks to achieve self-sufficiency for all types of weapons and military industries, especially after it witnessed the opening of a number of production lines during the last period."
    Al-Darraji confirmed that "the Turkish companies for military industries have expressed their willingness to provide the necessary support to the General Company for Military Industries and to provide it with the latest production lines." 
    He added, "The authority and the management of the General Company for Military Industries are keen to provide factories with the latest global technology specialized in military industries that benefit our armed forces in increasing their combat ability in defending the country."
    He met Darraji recently head of Industries Corporation's defense in Turkey Ismail Demir, to discuss ways of cooperation and partnership to build a military industry inside Iraq, and equipped production lines for light gear, and permeated the meeting, the signing of a partnership between the General Company for Military Industries and the Turkish company to manufacture airships for military and security purposes inside the country.
