The Iraqi Observatory for Human Rights called on the new parliament to give priority to legislation related to human rights and their protection.
The observatory stated in a statement that there are four important laws that the House of Representatives should pay attention to and give them priority in legislation, especially since their drafts have been written for years, despite the existence of differences over some of its paragraphs.
The observatory pointed out that the four laws that the new parliament must enact are children's rights, combating domestic violence, the right to obtain information, freedom of expression and peaceful demonstration.
