    [size=45]On Wednesday, the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, considered the decision of the Federal Supreme Court, which ruled that the oil and gas law of the region’s government was unconstitutional, as “does not serve stability in the country,” reiterating the region’s position on resolving differences and outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad based on the permanent Iraqi constitution.[/size]
    [size=45]This came during his meeting today with US Ambassador to Iraq Matthew Tueller and his accompanying delegation, according to a statement issued by the Presidency.[/size]
    [size=45]In this regard, President Nechirvan Barzani presented his reading of the method of issuing the aforementioned resolution and moving towards a solution, reiterating that the stage Iraq is going through calls on the Federal Court and all Iraqi parties to seek solutions to the problems.[/size]
    [size=45]He explained that the Kurdistan Region has always expressed its commitment to solving problems with the Iraqi federal government on the basis of the constitution, stressing that such steps do not serve stability in the country, so we must all work for a solution and maintain stability.[/size]
    [size=45]According to the statement, in the meeting, the two sides agreed in the opinion that the Friends of Iraq were looking forward, after last October’s parliamentary elections, that the government would be formed, stability would be achieved and the democratic process would advance in Iraq, and they also stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination between the Kurdistan Region and the Iraqi federal government, especially in the face of terrorism, which does not It still poses a real danger in Iraq and Syria.[/size]
    [size=45]The statement also indicated that the parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region constituted another focus of the meeting, in which Nechirvan Barzani stressed that the Presidency of the Kurdistan Region and the relevant authorities are working and communicating with the political parties so that the elections are held on time.[/size]
    [size=45]The two sides discussed the conditions of the Peshmerga, the reform steps, the process of unifying them, and the support of America and other friendly countries in this field, and they agreed that despite the good steps taken in this direction, the process still needs more work and that the continued support of America and the friends of the Kurdistan Region is required.[/size]
    [size=45]The economic sector and the importance of security and stability in encouraging the operation of foreign capital and investments in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, the importance of the independence of the courts in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and the continuation of Iraq’s cooperation and partnership with the international community, were other matters that occupied other axes of the meeting / as in the presidential statement.[/size]
