: Gold prices jumped more than 2% on Thursday to its highest level in more than a year as investors rushed to safe havens after Russian forces invaded Ukraine in what could be the start of a war in Europe.
And the spot price of gold jumped 1.9 percent to $ 1943.86 an ounce by 04:28 GMT, the highest level since early January 2021, and US gold futures rose 2 percent to $ 1949.20.
Gold has risen about 8% in February so far and is set to post its best monthly gain since July 2020.
Global stocks and US bond yields have fallen, while dollar and oil prices are increasingly higher.
Spot silver rose 1.6% to $24.91 an ounce, platinum rose 0.5% to $1,097.01 and palladium jumped 2% to $2,530.42.
