Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh confirmed today, Monday, that his country has warned Iraqi officials not to accept that Iraq is a center of threats to Iran's security and interests.
Zadeh said in a press conference, "Iraq must prevent the use of its territory to threaten security and stability in Iran," noting that "we have warned the Iraqi authorities that its borders will not become a place for conspiracy against our country."
He pointed out that "the Zionist entity is working against Iran from the Kurdistan Region," stressing by saying, "We never accept that a neighboring country turns into a center for plotting against our country and sending terrorists," as he described it.
The Kurdistan Regional Council of Ministers, headed by Masrour Barzani, had confirmed earlier today that the site targeted by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in Erbil Governorate was a civilian site and not an Israeli base, in response to a statement by the Guard that claimed that.
