    Today, Tuesday, the Parliamentary Agriculture Committee held the caretaker government responsible for the disruption of factories and the lack of support needed for the current planting season, while considering the export of agricultural crops abroad an internal economic war.
    Committee member Rafiq Al-Salihi said in an interview with "The Information", that "the local production in the country needs strong financial support to control the current food crisis by raising the prices of wheat, barley and all other local crops in an attempt to provide real support for them."
    He added, "All factories today are suspended due to the government's lack of interest in the ministries, and the problem of Iraq is the ministries' reluctance in their work," noting that "there is an abundance of groundwater and it must be properly invested in the field of agriculture."
    A member of the Parliamentary Agriculture Committee explained that “opening the import of agricultural materials is intended despite the abundance of local agricultural crops,” considering that “purchasing crops from inside the country and exporting them abroad is an internal economic war.”
    He continued, "The Iraqi farmer, with the availability of possible agricultural conditions, has the ability to cover markets with crops and issue the surplus," stressing "the need for real oversight to support local production and provide the most appropriate ways to solve food crises inside the country."
    Al-Salihi indicated that “the agricultural seasons and summer and winter plans were not supported by successive governments, especially the caretaker government, which neglected the current agricultural season,” calling for “preserving internal agricultural abundance and not exporting abroad.”
    The representative of the Sadiqoun Parliamentary Bloc Nasik Mahdi Al-Zanki had confirmed, earlier, that the government’s continued neglect of agriculture, the absence of clear future visions and the failure to develop strategic plans were all factors that paralyzed the agricultural sector.
