Shafaq News / The Finance Committee in the Iraqi Parliament revealed, on Monday, the latest developments in the draft federal budget law, which is still in the corridors of the Council of Ministers.
A member of the committee, Mueen Al-Kadhimi, told Shafaq News agency, "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani directed the Ministry of Finance to complete the draft general budget law for the year 2023, for the purpose of sending it to the House of Representatives after its approval in the Council of Ministers."
Al-Kazemi added, "The total amount in the budget law has become 140 trillion dinars," noting that "the expected fiscal deficit in the budget amounted to 20 trillion dinars."
He explained, "The price of a barrel of oil calculated in the budget law will be between 60-65 dollars," noting that "the Ministry of Finance will present the budget law to the Council of Ministers, for approval in the coming days."
