A member of the coordination framework, Jamal Hassan, considered that changing the governor of the Central Bank, Mustafa Ghaleb, and appointing Ali Al-Alaq in his place is part of the plan to reform the Iraqi treasury.
Jamal Hassan said that the recent deterioration of the exchange rate of the dollar in the Iraqi markets caused strong pressure on basic materials and raised their prices remarkably, which constituted a burden on more than thirteen million people who are below the poverty line.
He added that changing the governor of the central bank is part of a broad plan to reform the Iraqi treasury, pointing out that the changes will not stop and there is a broad plan to strengthen the capabilities of the central bank and the Ministry of Finance in dealing with the recent crisis.
He pointed out that the return of the dollar exchange rates to normal will take some time in light of the speculations carried out by traders, and other factors that caused the dollar exchange rate to rise directly.
