    On Monday, the staff of the Federal Integrity Commission managed to seize nearly (20) new rigs that were not used in one of the companies affiliated with the Ministry of Oil operating in Basra.

    The Investigation Department of the Commission, speaking of two seizure operations carried out by a team from the Commission’s Investigation Directorate in Basra, (February 20, 2023), stated that “the team moved to the headquarters of the Oil Exploration Company - the Fourth Seismic Division, where it was able to seize (18) manual rigs.” , with their firsts,” pointing out that “the team concluded that these excavators are new and have not been used since 2018.”  
      
    She indicated that "these rigs were brought in at the request of the company operating the Majnoon oil field (Shell Company), and they have not been used since the field was exposed to flooding, as the project was completed without using them."  
      
    And she added that, in a second operation, the team "moved to the headquarters of the same company, and seized an excavator of the type (Bockline - Cutler Pler)", noting that "the investigation and investigations carried out by the team and its preliminary investigations led to the fact that the purchase was in the year 2014, while it arrived The amount of its purchase is (250,000) thousand dollars, pointing out that the rig has been left in the water for two years, and there is an attempt to repair it at a value of (35,000,000) million Iraqi dinars.  
      
    And she noted, "the organization of fundamental police reports of the two operations, which were carried out on the basis of two judicial notes, and their presentation, along with the exhibits, to the judge of the Basra Investigation Court, which is specialized in hearing cases of integrity, to complete the appropriate legal procedures, and determine the amount of damage to public money and the point of negligence."
