The Dhi Qar Oil Company signed with the consortium of the Russian Lukoil companies and the Japanese INPEX the document for the commercial operation of the Oredo oil field, which is shared between the governorates of Dhi Qar and Muthanna.
It will start producing 30,000 barrels per day, with a production capacity of about 250,000 barrels within years, as it is the first oil field in Iraq in which gas is not burned, but is fully invested.
"The joint efforts culminated in reaching this stage, after this field was referred to a consortium of operating companies within the fourth licensing round," said Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul-Ghani, during a speech at the field's commercial signing ceremony.
Abdul Ghani explained that this new field will boost the production of Dhi Qar Oil Company, and add a new outlet to support Muthanna Governorate as well.
For his part, the Director General of the Dhi Qar Oil Company, Ali Khudair Al-Aboudi, told Al-Sabah: "We signed with the Russian and Japanese companies a document to operate the Iridu oil field located in the governorates of Dhi Qar and Al-Muthanna."
The Director General of the Dhi Qar Oil Company announced the start of commercial production of the Aridu oil field, which had previously been referred to the consortium of the Russian Lukoil company and the Japanese INPEX company, as part of the fourth licensing round, indicating that the Dhi Qar Oil Company made clear and continuous efforts to facilitate the task of the operator of this field. promising.
And Al-Aboudi indicated that the field, which extends over an area of approximately six thousand cubic kilometers, had developed an integrated plan for its management, which began since the launch of large-scale operations to clear these vast areas of mines. He continued that the start of exploration operations in cooperation with the Oil Exploration Company and using the latest technological methods, and then began the drilling of evaluation wells that targeted the formation of Mushrif and Yamama and the completion of petrophysical studies and updating of geological and reservoir models, as well as studies and laboratory examinations and analysis of rock core samples, and reservoir oil models that contributed Accelerating field commissioning and start-up of PVT production operations.
He expressed his happiness at achieving the joint efforts in which the Dhi Qar Oil Company contributed a large share in achieving the strategic goal, by starting the actual production operations from the Arido oil field, as well as focusing on investing associated gas and avoiding flaring operations in all experimental production stages, and this field will be the The first project in which gas is not burned, but fully invested.
