Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani said that the government had drawn up an ambitious program for the advancement of Iraq, and while he indicated that he would not tolerate any imbalance that might cause the people's money to be exploited, he stressed the determination to combat the corruption pandemic, indicating that it represents the major battle.
In his speech yesterday, Sunday, during the opening of the Baghdad International Dialogue Conference, in its fifth edition, Al-Sudani welcomed the researchers, academics and specialists who came from everywhere to participate, saying that “this indicates that Iraq has regained its natural position as an incubator for dialogues and conferences.”
And he stated, “The most important challenge (after 2003) began by choosing a permanent constitution that would end the abnormal situation in which the dictatorial regime proceeded, which drafted a temporary constitution that suits its mood, without any consideration or consideration for the basic rights of all Iraqis,” noting that “the Iraqis chose in October 15, 2005, a permanent constitution establishing citizenship.
Al-Sudani then touched on the difficult stages that the Iraqi people have suffered from over the past two decades, leading to the terrorist “ISIS” occupation of our cities and the subsequent issuance of the fatwa of sufficient jihad and the battles of liberation, and he continued, “After we passed through the ordeal, the effects of procrastination were clear, and complaints about mismanagement began to appear. And the waste of money is growing, and we have seen many signs of discontent with the inability of state institutions to reform and carry out their duties, and after difficult labor, during the post-liberation years, our current government came.
And he indicated that “the current government has drawn up an ambitious and comprehensive program that works to advance Iraq, and to move it towards investing all its wealth and energies and employing them to compensate for the years of devastation it missed.” Subjective, partisan, or factional, the national wealth belongs to all Iraqis,” stressing the determination “to combat the pandemic of corruption, that major battle in which if we underestimate it, we lose all our other battles.”
In addition, Oil Minister Hayan Abdul-Ghani said: “There are agreements with (OPEC) as Iraq is the second oil producer in the organization, and we are committed to them,” noting that “the ministry is committed to the organization’s decisions on oil export and reduction by about 220 thousand barrels per day until the end of 2023 according to the agreement.
Abdul-Ghani added, during a dialogue session at the Baghdad Dialogue Forum, that “Iraq burns large quantities of gas, and what is being invested is 56% of the product,” noting that “most of the gas currently produced is associated with crude oil, so with the increase in oil production, there is an increase in production.” gas, but we must have a facility capable of investing gas to benefit from it, especially in the processing of power stations.”
He revealed an "ambitious plan to invest gas, especially in the southern fields, which is now burning," pointing out that "the joint Basra Gas Company with the South Gas Company and Shell Company invests gas at a rate of up to 1,000 million cubic meters per day."
He pointed out that "there are more than 10 promising exploratory patches, most of which are invasive," explaining that "the ministry is in the process of preparing and preparing a bag of information for these fields, with a period not exceeding the seventh month of this year to announce them."
Yesterday, Sunday, the fifth edition of the Baghdad International Dialogue Conference, organized by the Iraqi Institute for Dialogue, kicked off for two days, with the participation of dozens of local, Arab and foreign political figures.
Commenting on the convening of the Baghdad International Dialogue Conference and its importance in favor of Iraq's restoration of its vital role in embracing regional and international initiatives, a member of the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee, Dr. Muthanna Amin, said in an interview with Al-Sabah: “Iraq has played a fundamental role in bringing points of view closer together. between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Iran, because Iraq constitutes a bridge between the two parties in terms of geography, politics and sectarianism, noting that it is in the interest of Iraq and the region that the conflicts between the two neighboring countries end.
Amin stressed that "if Iraq regains its natural position, stability and sovereignty in full, it can solve many conflicts because it has a great strategic location in the region, in addition to the population, economic and political weight, and therefore it can actually play this role."
For his part, the analyst on international affairs, Dr. Haider Salman, said in an interview with Al-Sabah: “All Iraqi governments tended towards settling crises in the region after 2003, especially since all governments agree that settling crises in the region leads to stability in Iraq.” Specifically, the relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Iran because of their great and direct influence on the internal situation in Iraq,” noting that “the negotiation that took place between the two countries had a large part in its success for Baghdad, and it is clear that this will extend to reconciliation between the rest of the countries, and part of it may be Iran – Jordan.” Iran - Egypt, and Turkey - Syria.
While the independent politician, Omar Al-Nasser, told Al-Sabah: “The pivotal role of Iraq is not new, as it played great roles in pioneering and resolving differences between the countries of the region, and it is time for it to return to the ranks of Arab and regional influence because of its capabilities, energies, and economic and human resources that help to achieve this goal.” And he pointed out that “all conditions have become favorable today for Iraq to invest the opportunity of Saudi-Iranian rapprochement and harness that for the benefit of the country in particular and the region in general, as a serious step to restore security, stability and prosperity.”
comprehensive economic.
And he continued: “After Beijing broke the ice between the two countries (Iran and Saudi Arabia), the opportunity became appropriate for Baghdad to melt it by hosting international and regional summits and conferences that would restore diplomatic relations to their previous state, given that the world began to change and the coming future and the center of gravity and international balance will be for the countries of the region.” The Middle East".
In turn, the political analyst, Dr. Abbas Al-Jubouri, said in an interview with Al-Sabah: “Iraq has always placed itself outside the policy of international axes, but it was a place for dialogue and dialogue, and the best evidence of that is what happened between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Iran, as Iraq is considered one of the countries The articulation that has an impact in the Middle East at the level of the Arab, regional and international region, in addition to its capabilities ».
He added, "Iraq's politicians should invest in the conferences and dialogues that were held for the benefit of Iraq, and make these frequent and mutual visits between Iraqi and Arab officials serve the people, through discussions and conclusion of political and investment agreements and everything that is in the interest of Iraq."
