[rtl]Baghdad / NINA /- The Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khaled Battal Al-Najm, and the Minister of Industry and Trade in the Kurdistan Region, Kamal Muslim, discussed today, Thursday, a number of files of interest to the Iraqi industrial sector, including double taxation and customs exemptions.

During the meeting, Al-Najm stressed, “The need to find appropriate solutions to problems and obstacles and resolve them once and for all within the applicable frameworks and laws,” explaining that “there are some obstacles that need real solutions, including those related to granting incorporation permits for industrial projects through the General Directorate of Industrial Development and the importance of joint coordination between the center and the region.” In this regard, it was agreed to develop a coordinated vision between the two sides on the common files.
The minister pointed out that "there are laws and legislation that need to be amended according to the current changes and data and the necessary requirements in order to serve the public interest and work to form a committee from both parties and in the presence of representatives from the Ministerial Council of Economy to come out with an integrated vision of the problems and find solutions to them,” pointing to “the need to hold a meeting of the Economic Ministerial Council in the Kurdistan Region, and to continue discussions and mutual field visits through a joint team to see the reality of industrial factories and coordinate future work.
For his part, the Minister of Industry and Trade in the Kurdistan Region affirmed that "industrial factories in the governorates of Iraq and the region are under the umbrella of one Iraq," expressing "readiness to cooperate with the Ministry of Industry and Minerals to overcome Obstacles and solving problems in a way that serves the Iraqi industry.[/rtl]
