Conservative right-wing Republican Senator J.D. Vance admitted that the invasion of Iraq is the most disastrous mistake in the history of US foreign policy since 2003, indicating that the invasion caused the elimination of the Christian population in the country.
And the Jewish Insider website affiliated with the Israeli lobby, in a report translated by Al-Maalouma Agency, quoted Republican Senator De Vance as saying at a conference of the American Heritage Foundation, which is considered the growing isolationist wing of the neo-conservatives in the Republican Party, as saying, "We have spent trillions of dollars, and we have killed thousands of Americans and more Iraqis." And we eliminated the largest number of the Christian population in Iraq, but that only put Israel in a more threatening situation."
He added, "Vance expressed his regret that many of the figures who supported the war are still influential in the party, while he considered the United States' support for Ukraine during the war with Russia as a possible repetition of the mistakes made in Iraq," describing Ukraine as having "the most corrupt leadership and the biggest corrupt government." in Europe, and perhaps the most corrupt leadership anywhere in the world."
Vance argued that "US aid going to Ukraine would be better spent at home or on bolstering Taiwan against a possible Chinese invasion and that the US lacks the resources to bolster both Ukraine and Taiwan at the same time".
"We can't be the world's police, nor should we try to be. We don't have to be a global hegemon, but we do have to defend American interests and American security first and foremost," he said.
Senator Josh Hawley said that "what the United States is going through now is the result of decades of failed American foreign policy, including by conservatives in the post-Cold War era, in adopting a "what might be called a New World Order" policy that focuses on an interdependent global economy. ".
He pointed out that "these mistakes are the reason for the continuous American presence in the Middle East and the semi-permanent presence in Europe." End/ 25 zd
