    The Ministry of Environment stressed the importance of finding controls to speed up the granting of environmental approvals through the electronic platform to include all governorates after the success of its pilot launch in Baghdad, stressing at the same time the activation of memorandums of understanding with research centers. 
    This came during the chairing of the Minister of Environment, Eng. Nizar Amidi, an expanded meeting with the directors of the Directorates of Climate Change and the Urban Environment to discuss and follow up the prepared programmes, plans, completed projects and work mechanisms, in the presence of the directors of its departments.
    The Minister of Environment stated that in light of the exceptional circumstances and climate crisis that the whole world and Iraq in particular are suffering from, it is necessary to focus on preparing and preparing a national team for COP28, which will be held in Dubai. and youth segment.
    In turn, the Director of the Directorate of Climate Change, Youssef Moayed, pointed out the importance of drawing up a general policy with the rest of the ministries to implement national adaptation plans and to benefit from international support in implementing projects in southern and northern Iraq subject to national standards.
    For his part, Director of the Urban Environment Directorate Muthanna Hassan Salumi highlighted the importance of projects to re-evaluate the pollutants released to water sources, with a focus on international agreements, facilitating mechanisms for importing chemicals and licenses for ozone, activating memorandums of understanding with research centers and industrial development, and benefiting from them in environmental projects.
