The Prime Minister urges adherence to the timing of the new Sadr City project

Yesterday, Sunday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani issued new directives regarding the Sadr City construction project, stressing the necessity of adhering to the project's timelines, and overcoming routine and obstacles in order to expedite the implementation of this vital project.
The media office of the Prime Minister said in a statement: "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani chaired, yesterday, Sunday, the third meeting on the project to establish the new Sadr City, in the presence of the Minister of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities, the Mayor of Baghdad, the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, and a number of the Prime Minister's advisors." Noting that "the meeting witnessed a discussion of the basic details of the new Sadr City project, deliberation on a number of aspects and joints of the project, and the importance of completing all the necessary steps in preparation for the commencement of work."
He added, "The Prime Minister followed up on the course of the measures taken during the previous meeting, represented by putting a security wall around the new Sadr City project area, as well as following up on the appropriation of its own lands," noting that "it was decided during the meeting to contract with the consultant concerned with developing the final designs for the project during this period." The meeting also approved the specific time limits for the stages of work on the project and the method of financing it, in addition to approving the model that will be used to build the residential complexes.
Al-Sudani directed, "the need to adhere to the specified time periods, and that the implementation be according to the planned stages, and the concerned authorities should expedite the completion of their tasks," pointing out that "the new Sadr City construction project comes within the government's direction to take practical steps to address the housing crisis, as stipulated." The government program, and among the solutions was the establishment of new cities in the capital, Baghdad, and the provinces, and the government has taken practical measures in this regard.
Al-Sudani stated, according to the statement, that "these strategic projects will provide wide job opportunities for young people, in various specialties and professions," directing "the need to overcome routine and overcome obstacles in order to expedite the implementation of the project."
On the other hand, the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, received yesterday, Sunday, the new commander of the NATO mission in Iraq, Jose Antonio, while bidding farewell to the former commander of the mission, Giovanni Iannucci, after the end of his duties in Iraq, in the presence of Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Adviser to the Prime Minister and Military Secretary to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
A statement by the media office of the Prime Minister stated that during the meeting, they discussed paths of cooperation between Iraq and NATO countries, in the fields of advising and training the Iraqi security forces. Al-Sudani welcomed the new head of the NATO mission, stressing the need to continue developing the performance and capabilities of the Iraqi forces in confronting Security challenges, which are among the government's priorities in managing the security file.
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani also received Jordanian Interior Minister Mazen Abdullah Al-Faraya and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of Interior Minister Abdul-Amir Al-Shammari.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, and ways to enhance security cooperation between Iraq and Jordan, in the field of exchanging experiences, and facilitating the entry of citizens from both countries, according to a statement by the Prime Minister's Information Office.
Al-Sudani referred, according to the statement, to the level of economic cooperation between Iraq and Jordan and the common desire to develop it, in a way that contributes to promoting development for the two countries, indicating that sustainable security is a precursor to development and prosperity, and stressed the need to confront security challenges in the region, and the importance of high coordination between the two countries, in order to Addressing the scourge of drugs that has become a threat to our youth and threatens the fabric of our societies.
For his part, the Jordanian Minister of Interior praised the efforts of the Iraqi security forces in combating terrorism, which constitutes a real threat to all countries in the region and the world.
