Today, Monday, the Independent High Electoral Commission announced the opening of registration for coalitions and parties wishing to participate in the local elections.
And the Commission stated in an infographic that I viewed (Baghdad Today), that it "announced the opening of registration for alliances and parties wishing to participate in the 2023 provincial elections, from the first Saturday of this July until the thirtieth of it."
Yesterday, Sunday, the Independent High Electoral Commission called on citizens to visit the offices of the Commission to update their information .
The statement also called on citizens who have updated their information to visit the offices of the Commission to receive their voting cards .
The number of voters who are entitled to cast their votes in the provincial council elections to be held at the end of this year is 28 million, after adding those born in 2004 and 2005 .
And according to Law No. 12 of 2018 on the Third Amendment for Parliament, Provincial and District Council elections, the biometric card has become the basis for the upcoming local elections.
