Preparations for holding the Third Baghdad Environment Conference next November

The Ministry of Environment has begun its preparations for holding the third Baghdad Conference, to be held in November, to develop international and regional solutions to confront climate change.
The director of climate change in the ministry, Youssef Muayad, told Al-Sabah that his ministry has begun its preparations for holding the third Baghdad Environment Conference, to be held in November, to develop regional and international political solutions to confront climate change.
He stressed the importance of implementing projects that support the country's transition towards a sustainable green economy and encourage the use of environmentally friendly technology, through the existence of regional cooperation to counter the impact of climate change.
Moayad stated that during the conference, the most important implementations of the Paris Climate Agreement and the Iraqi National Contributions Document to confront the impact of climate change will be presented, and several meetings will be held to identify the most prominent challenges of climate change, including food security, energy and water, as well as the disaster reduction file, as a contribution to developing political solutions. And he indicated that meetings and technical meetings will be held in preparation for the third Baghdad Conference, which will witness the participation of Arab and foreign countries, indicating that what has been achieved during the past period will be presented in order to confront the climate changes taking place.
In the same context, the Director of Climate Change noted that the next stage will witness a focus on implementing projects and plans that have been developed in order to confront climate changes on the ground, in addition to coordination with ministries and other agencies to implement joint projects.
