a member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Mudar Al-Karawi, confirmed, on Tuesday, the opening of an investigation into the 4000 file related to compensation for those affected by terrorist operations in Diyala.
Al-Karawi said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, “A file containing 4,000 special compensation transactions for owners of a role affected by terrorism in several areas of Diyala has been delayed in a way that raised many question marks in the past months in the Ministry of Finance."
He added, "A meeting was held with the Minister of Finance to discuss the reasons for the delay," pointing out that "she instructed an immediate settlement, the disbursement of financial compensation, an investigation and the accountability of the negligent."
He pointed out that "the Diyala compensation file is facing delays and obstacles for reasons that will be revealed by investigations in the Ministry of Finance, despite the directives of the prime minister to resolve it and overcome all obstacles, given the exceptional situation of the province .”
