    Iraq's ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Safia Talib Al-Suhail, met with Ibrahim bin Muhammad Al-Qannas, head of the Saudi-Iraqi Parliamentary Friendship Committee in the Saudi Shura Council, and members of the committee in the Saudi Shura Council building.

    During the meeting, according to a statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, followed by "NAS" Thursday, (July 13, 2023), "they discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, and Ambassador Al-Suhail stressed the role of the legislative authority and the friendship committees in strengthening the relations of the two countries and the two brotherly peoples."  
      
    She referred to "the direction of the leadership in Iraq to strengthen relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at various levels, including public and parliamentary diplomacy. Ambassador Al-Suhail expressed her happiness with the development taking place in the Kingdom in various fields and Iraq's endeavor to benefit from the Kingdom's experiences in this field."  
      
    The ambassador extended "an invitation to the head and members of the Saudi-Iraqi Parliamentary Friendship Committee in the Saudi Shura Council to visit Iraq at the invitation of the Friendship Committee in the Iraqi Parliament."  
      
    For his part, Ibrahim al-Qannas and members of the committee welcomed "this visit, wishing the ambassador success in her duties to develop the relations of the two brotherly countries, praising the development in their relationship in various fields and the convening of the Iraqi-Saudi Coordinating Council."  
      
    The chairman and members of the committee expressed their "acceptance of the invitation, stressing that it will be accepted in the coming month of September, expressing their pride in Iraq's history and civilization, and stressing the depth of relations and ties between the two brotherly countries on the social and historical levels."
