Al-Sudani said in a press conference held this evening after the regular session of the Council of Ministers, "Paying dues according to the US sanctions mechanism has become complicated, which forced us to a barter agreement, as the dialogues resulted in signing Iran's supply of black oil in the first stage."
Al-Sudani explained that the barter will take place according to "an equation that includes the volume of the supplied gas, with allocations in the budget, to reflect a barter for black oil for Iranian domestic use."
And Al-Sudani indicated that his government "is working with the American side to pay the dues, which have decreased to 9.25 billion euros, after part of the money has been paid."
Al-Sudani revealed that a delegation from the Central Bank and the Iraqi Trade Bank "left today to Amman to agree on a formula for transferring these funds to Amman in agreement with the US Treasury."
