The Ministry of Water Resources expects that the rains expected to fall well during the next winter season will contribute to Iraq overcoming the suffocating water crisis that it went through and suffered from its effects for the past four years. The Minister of Water Resources, Aoun Diab, said that the previous visit of the President of the Republic, Dr. Abd al-Latif Jamal Rashid, to Turkey months ago, was positive and contributed to an increase in water reserves
from seven to eleven billion cubic meters.
However, Iraq succeeded through it in overcoming the suffocating drought of the current summer, which is the fourth in a row that passes through the country as a result of the dangerous decrease in the amount of water releases from neighboring countries, and the significant decline in precipitation rates.
