Minister of Oil: Stop burning associated gas and invest it in operating stations

Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul-Ghani said: His visit, yesterday, Monday, to Kirkuk governorate, comes to follow up on projects to develop fields and end gas flaring there.
Abdul-Ghani explained, in a press conference attended by “Al-Sabah”, that the visit also included discussions with Governor Rakan Al-Jubouri regarding projects of social benefits and mechanisms for implementing the best service projects in the province, noting that Al-Qayyarah refinery, which he visited in Nineveh Governorate, is currently undergoing development work, which he promised from The most important priorities of his ministry's work.
Abdul-Ghani pointed out that the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani, directed the acceleration of the implementation of gas investment projects, pointing out that the signing with the (Total) company and the completion of projects in the fields of Basra and others are all projects that will end the burning of gas after years, noting that the associated gas and stopping its burning is important. The Ministry is working on it with the aim of investing it in operating stations and factories, and it is part of the government program for the Prime Minister.
The Minister of Oil, accompanied by the Governor of Kirkuk, Rakan al-Jubouri, held an expanded meeting with the advanced staffing of the North Oil Company and officials of the oil sector, during which they discussed technical ways to develop the sector and increase production rates from the Kirkuk fields.
