On Thursday, the Ministry of Commerce announced the start of distributing electronic ration cards to citizens on the Rusafa side of the capital, Baghdad.

The Director General of the Planning and Follow-up Department at the Ministry of Commerce, Ibtihal Hashim Sabet, said in a ministry statement, a copy of which “NAS” received, (August 17, 2023), that “the ration branches in Baghdad Governorate, near Rusafa, have begun distributing electronic ration cards to food agents for the purpose of hand it over to the citizens.
Sabit called on all citizens to "update their data in the locations that will be determined later, bringing with them their original documents, in order to avoid withholding the items of the food basket and the flour material from them."
