    Baghdad - Nas
After his legal team requested that civil trials be postponed to 2026, a New York federal judge expressed growing impatience with what he described as former President Donald Trump's "repeated efforts to delay" a defamation lawsuit against him, for the fourth time.

Judge Louis Kaplan confirmed that he would not stop the trial session scheduled for January 15, due to the lack of any justification, describing the justifications provided by Trump's lawyers as trivial, as he put it.

    For after 2026!

This position came in the judge's written response to the list of arguments presented by Trump's lawyers to demand the postponement of the civil lawsuit, which was filed against him in 2019 by writer E. Jane Carroll, alleging that the former president raped her in a luxurious dressing room in Manhattan in the spring of 1996, according to what was reported. Quoted Associated Press.

The date of this lawsuit coincides with the start of the presidential election season, during which the former Republican president seeks to return once again to the White House.

    Tough year

It is noteworthy that the next year will not be easy for Trump, as he faces, at the same time, four criminal indictments related to seeking to annul the results of the 2020 presidential elections, as well as the case of secret documents that were found in his home, in addition to the case of paying a bribe to pornographic actor Stormi. Daniels to silence her before the 2016 election.

Note that he denied all charges against him.

In May, a jury awarded author E. Jane Carroll $5 million in damages, finding that she had been sexually harassed and defamed by Trump, even though she had not been raped.

Her lawyers are now seeking another $10 million in punitive damages for comments Trump made after the jury's ruling.
