    {Local: Al-Furat News} The Ministry of Planning confirmed today, Thursday, that work on the project to develop and rehabilitate the (Baghdad-Babylon) road is continuing continuously, and the implementation rate has increased to about (35%).

    A statement from the ministry, a copy of which {Al-Furat News} received, stated that: “its specialized teams carried out a field visit to the project, with the aim of reviewing the reality of the work progress in the stages of its implementation, diagnosing the obstacles and problems that hinder its completion and taking the necessary measures and recommendations to address them,” noting that “ The project includes: rehabilitation and expansion of the road with a length of (26) kilometers, which consists of five sections starting from the Baghdad Arc and ending at the control of (Iraq).
    He added, “The project includes rehabilitation, clearing, cladding and expansion of the road, as well as the construction of service roads on both sides with a width of 8 meters and along the length of the road, in addition to rehabilitating and maintaining a bridge for vehicles to cross and change their direction. In addition to maintaining and adding pedestrian bridges. The project also includes adding lighting poles.” Modern double villas and central islands, pointing out that the project completion rate reached (33%).” 
    The statement continued, "The field follow-up also included a visit to the project to develop the southern entrance to Baghdad (Baghdad-Babylon), which extends from Al-Walid Bridge to the Arch within the boundaries of the Baghdad Municipality, in order to see the reality of the progress of work," explaining that "the project includes expanding the road to be (14) wide." meters for each lane to and from, and a length of (5.5) kilometers on each side. In addition to the construction of four pedestrian bridges, as well as the addition of modern lighting poles, and road planning and furnishing work, where the completion rate reached (12%).
