    Al-Ghad Press / Baghdad
The head of the Iranian Trade Development Organization, Mehdi Zaghmi, expressed today, Tuesday, his country’s government’s readiness to cooperate with Iraq and contribute to its industrial development until 2035.
Daghimi said in a speech he delivered before the joint trade conference of Iran and Iraq today, “Iran, which has suffered from the embargo for the past 4 decades, has been able to record good technological and industrial achievements and is ready to help Iraq by providing it with technology and developing industrial projects in Iraq.”
He continued: "In the name of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Mining, and in the name of the Iranian government, we announce our comprehensive support for the industrial development of Iraq until 2035."
Dhigmi noted, "Achieving these goals requires addressing challenges such as logistical issues and financial transfers so that we can achieve the goals set by the presidents of the two countries."
Dhaighmi also pointed out that “the volume of trade relations between Iran and Iraq is increasing and can reach 30 or 40 billion dollars annually, and that the joint trade committee between the two countries is studying setting plans, developing infrastructure and ways to develop trade between the two countries, as well as finding a trade balance,” adding that the committee “I also studied the abolition of trade and specifications restrictions between the two countries, as well as logistical and commercial issues, to raise the current trade volume to 20 billion dollars annually.”
