Parliamentary Education: The amounts for the school feeding program are insufficient for its implementation

The Parliamentary Education Committee revealed that the amounts allocated for the school feeding program are insufficient for its implementation, stressing that it will improve the health and educational status of students from the poor families targeted by it.
Committee member Zaytoun Al-Dulaimi said in a statement she made to Al-Sabah: The committee is working hard to implement the school feeding program during the current academic year (2023-2024), noting that the committee and specialists in the Ministry of Education studied it in-depth, with the aim of producing results that contribute to Its content improved and the set of goals for which it was launched was achieved.
She confirmed that the amounts allocated to the program within the budget to cover its expenses are insufficient for its implementation, calling on the concerned authorities to cooperate in order to complete the launch process, ensuring its continuation and making it an accompaniment for students at the start of their school year, especially within the poor areas that the program primarily targets.
In the same context, Al-Dulaimi indicated that the program is one of the important projects that will enhance the students’ health and educational level. It will also address, at the same time, the situation of families who are unable to provide the simplest necessities for their students when they go to school, by providing a complete healthy meal that contributes significantly to Great for enhancing their intellectual and physical abilities.
