    As part of the government’s approach to confront water scarcity, an amount of 250 billion dinars has been allocated in the 2023 budget to purchase center pivot irrigation systems for watering large areas planted with strategic crops.

    Al-Jubouri confirmed that the current trend is for the equipped pivotal systems to have a capacity limited to between 60, 80 and 120 dunams only, as they are specialized in strategic crops such as wheat, barley and yellow corn. He revealed that a lottery will be held for those who meet the required conditions to be equipped with more than 13,000 fixed pivotal systems, and they represent the first batch of The systems are expected to arrive during the next few months, while the reserve and the winners of the lottery will be included in the systems' equipping later.
