    Today, Saturday, the Strategic Planning and Federal Parliamentary Service Committee discussed with the Ministry of Finance the inclusion of the Iraq Fund for Development in the 2023 budget. 
    The Parliament’s Media Department stated in a statement received by Earth News, “The Strategic Planning and Federal Service Committee, headed by Representative Laila Al-Tamimi, Chairman of the Committee, and in the presence of its members, hosted the Minister of Finance, Taif Sami, and the senior staff in the Ministry today, Saturday.”
    She continued, “The hosting began with a discussion about the unified treasury system, the repercussions of the system’s connection to the World Bank, the obstacles to implementing this system, contracting with a financial management expert to implement and design the unified treasury account, implementing the “RTGSC” system for the unified treasury account as a first stage, and organizing the accounts of both salaries and operational expenses at the Central Bank. In addition to implementing the “IFMS” system by working with the consulting company to update the outputs provided by the Ministry of Finance departments for the purpose of preparing to request offers from international companies to equip the system and adopting a governing vision in restricting external borrowing for investment and service projects and the responsibility of repaying the loan from the revenues of the borrowed project for its own account without any charge. “The state treasury will bear the burden of repayment and draw up strategies for borrowing through the public debt department.”
    According to the media department’s statement, “the attendees discussed the inclusion of the Iraq Development Fund in the draft budget law for 2023, the issuance of the internal regulations by the Prime Minister’s Office, reform of the tax and customs system, control of border crossings, and maximization of non-oil revenues through automation of customs procedures and application of the ESCO system and the PO system.” S, and studying the draft of the second amendment to the amended Income Tax Law No. 113 of 1982, and working on the comprehensive electronic tax system project, structuring the sections, drawing a plan for the stages of tax accounting, re-collecting tax deposits from the currency sale auction, issuing a decision in this regard, and rehabilitating the free zones in Al-Zubair, Mosul, and Al-Qaim. “.
