Today, Saturday, the Joint Operations Command confirmed the completion of all preparations and plans to protect polling stations in the provincial council elections.
The spokesman for the Joint Operations Command, Major General Tahseen Al-Khafaji, said in a press statement, “The command is responsible for the security file of election administration, which includes preparing plans to prepare sectors, protect electoral centers, and transport ballot boxes.”
He added, “All security preparations are fully prepared with regard to protecting the ballot boxes, and the polling centers are also prepared,” pointing out that “the Joint Operations Command’s preparations for polling day are taking place in direct coordination with the Electoral Commission and the rest of the relevant authorities.”
The Iraqi provincial council elections are scheduled to be held on December 18th.
