Today, Thursday (November 23, 2023), the National Housing Council recommended allocating housing units to some categories and reducing prices.
A statement from the Ministry of Construction and Housing received by “Baghdad Today” stated that “The Minister of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works, Chairman of the National Housing Council (Benjin Rikani), chaired at the Ministry’s headquarters the twentieth session of the Council, in the presence of the Mayor of Baghdad, the Governor of Baghdad, the Chairman of the National Investment Authority and the rest of the Council members.” From various relevant government agencies.
He added, "The meeting discussed several items, and a number of recommendations were presented for approval by the Council of Ministers, the most important of which is determining the proportions of the categories included in the new housing units, including the families of martyrs of the security forces and the wounded according to the percentage of disability, and the proportion of distinguished pioneers of athletes, artists and others, in addition to A percentage is allocated to the Prime Minister for the purpose of distributing it to citizens for special humanitarian cases.”
The Council also recommended that the heirs of the deceased beneficiary be included in the reduction of 75% of the price of the residential unit of the complexes implemented by the Ministry, on the condition that the deceased’s wife is not married and not employed, and that a period of six months be given for the purpose of completing the procedures for registering land plots for the last time, with an emphasis on governors.
