    Economy News - Baghdad
The management of the Rumaila oil field in Basra announced on Thursday that its projects focus on reducing water waste and environmental pollution.
The official of the Water Projects Division at the Field Operating Authority, Qusay Tariq Abdel Mohsen, said, “The projects of the Rumaila Field Operating Authority in Basra are currently focusing on water projects, due to scarcity problems during the summer.”
He added, "These projects are very important, as they will contribute to reducing water waste in the amounts of water used from the Shatt al-Arab, and reducing environmental pollution in the Rumaila field," explaining that "the water currently produced is either injected into the Dammam dish, or directed to drilling for oil works, and it is considered one of the pollutants.”
It is noteworthy that the management of the operation of the Rumaila oil field, west of Basra Governorate, announced earlier that the ongoing work in the project to re-inject the water produced in the Rumaila field exceeds 88%, noting that the project depends on a special pipe network of corrosion-resistant “GRE” fiberglass. High thickness and special specifications for transporting industrial water.
