On Thursday, the head of the organizing body of the popular movement, Hussein Ali Al-Karaawi, called on the judiciary and the public prosecution to open an investigation into the inflation of the wealth of Muhammad Al-Halbousi and those close to him.

Al-Karaawi said in an interview with the Maalouma Agency, “The ousted Speaker of the House of Representatives was involved with a number of his party’s leaders in obtaining illegal gains that led to the inflation of their wealth by exploiting their influence.”
He added, "The Iraqi judiciary and the Public Prosecution Service are required to know how the Speaker of the House of Representatives, expelled on fraud charges, built his palaces, which amount to millions of dollars."
Al-Karaawi pointed out that “the regulatory agencies have not yet seized any funds from the ousted Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi.”
The Federal Supreme Court had decided, earlier, to terminate the membership of the ousted Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad al-Halbousi, based on a forgery lawsuit filed by Representative Laith al-Dulaimi. Ended/25H
