Adding 80,000 people covered by the protection network to health insurance

The Health Insurance Authority said that it included 89,000 categories of the social protection network with this service, while indicating that an evaluation is being conducted on other institutions to include them in social security.
The authority’s spokesman, Dr. Ihab Al-Halafi, explained to “Al-Sabah”: Since November of last year, the authority has begun providing services to the insured whose categories were determined in the first phase of the pilot application, such as employees, categories of the Social Protection Authority, autism patients, and retirees, indicating that their number reached about 300. One thousand citizens.
He indicated that the beginning of this year witnessed the addition of 80,000 members of the Social Protection Authority categories, bringing the number to 180,000 instead of 100,000, in addition to obtaining the Council of Ministers’ decision to reduce their payment contribution and exempt them from most fees, since the guarantee aims to reduce the financial burdens on the citizen and focuses largely on Protecting segments that suffer from poverty and deprivation.
