    Economy News - Baghdad
Today, Wednesday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee confirmed that there is difficulty in implementing the proposed employee salary scale, while the authority responsible for implementing this scale indicated.
Committee member Muhammad Al-Khuzaie said, in an interview followed by Al-Eqtisad News, that “applying the salary scale for Iraqi state employees is exclusively within the powers of the Iraqi government, and the House of Representatives has no interference in adding any expenses within the budget law or employee salaries, as this is exclusively within the jurisdiction and powers of the executive authority.” ".
Al-Khuzai stated, “There is difficulty in implementing the new salary scale, as this requires a very large financial addition, and it is particularly difficult in light of the large increase in the number of employees during the last period, and the addition of large funds as salaries for new employees, and therefore the government sees a financial difficulty in embarking on "This step is at the moment."
Yesterday, Tuesday (February 20, 2024), Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani revealed the latest developments in amending the employee salary scale.
Al-Sudani said during a press conference held on Tuesday evening, “Amending the salary scale requires amending and abolishing 34 laws and decisions because it conflicts with previous decisions, and this requires in-depth study and research.”
He added, "We took decisions to increase the allocations for minimum salaries so that we do not wait for the salary scale to be adjusted."
