The Federal Supreme Court, the highest judicial authority in Iraq, on Tuesday issued a clarification regarding the disbursement of salaries to Kurdistan Region employees and called on Baghdad and Erbil to expedite the process of resettlement.[/size]
[size=45]The court stated in a statement, regarding the measures taken by the Ministry of Finance in implementation of the ruling decision issued by the Federal Supreme Court No. (224 and consolidated 269 / Federal / 2024) dated 2/21/2024 regarding the disbursement of the dues of employees of the Kurdistan Region, and said that “the settlement mechanism requires a period of time.” Based on the letter of the Federal Ministry of Finance regarding financing the account under Letter No. (6369) dated 3/11/2024.”[/size]
[size=45]She added, “It is the duty of the Kurdistan Regional Government to cooperate and coordinate with the Federal Ministry of Finance in this regard, as the purpose of the Federal Supreme Court’s decision regarding the process of nationalizing salaries lies in ensuring the rights of employees in the region, preserving their strength and achieving social justice, and since the process of nationalization requires a period of time.” sufficient to accomplish it, so the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Finance and Economy in the regional government must expedite and make efforts for the purpose of achieving the Saudization process, provided that the salaries of the remaining employees whose salaries Saudization process has not been completed for technical reasons will be disbursed in cash until the full Saudization process is completed.”[/size]
