[rtl]Iran International Agency revealed that the Iranian energy sector is under what it described as a “crisis” as a result of the decline in its ability to produce gas after the economic sanctions imposed on it by the United States years ago. [/rtl]
[rtl]The agency stated, “The Iranian authorities signed a contract worth billions of dollars with the Iraqi side to supply it with the gas necessary to operate Iraqi power generators,” expecting that “Iran will fail to export the gas required within the contracts during the coming period as a result of” a doubling of the volume of internal demand for gas for energy production with a decline. Production ratios. [/rtl]
[rtl]She continued, "The Iranian energy sector is now suffering from a production shortage of about 35 megawatts as a result of the gas scarcity. Despite this, the Iranian government has signed a contract to supply Iraqi energy generators with the gas that Iran needs to meet its rising domestic need." [/rtl]
[rtl]The agency expected that Iran would "fail" to export the gas required under the contracts to Iraq, stressing that continuing exports in the current manner would lead to a "massive increase" in Iran's domestic need for energy, which would lead to an electricity crisis in the country, as it described it. [/rtl]
[rtl]It is noteworthy that Iran has signed contracts with Iraq extending for the next five years, under which it is committed to supplying Iraq with the natural gas necessary to operate power generators, with the Iraqi authorities moving towards investing gas locally through separate contracts with General Electric and Siemens companies with the aim of meeting Iraq’s local need.[/rtl]
