    [rtl]Today, Tuesday, the Ministry of Transport announced the development of a strategic plan to rehabilitate airports, and while indicating its intention to open new routes for Iraqi Airlines, it confirmed that the plan for the year 2024 includes returning 10 aircraft to service.[/rtl]
    Director of Relations and Media at the Ministry, Maytham Al-Safi, said: “The Ministry of Transport has developed a strategic plan to rehabilitate airports, which is divided into a current and future plan. An agreement was also made with IFC, the financing institution affiliated with the World Bank, to develop strategic plans for developing and rehabilitating airports.”
    Al-Safi added, "There is intensive follow-up by the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi, almost daily, with the management of Baghdad International Airport to follow up on some procedures for providing services to travelers, as well as developing some immediate solutions for the process of rehabilitating and maintaining the airport in general."
    He pointed out that "The General Company for Iraqi Airways continues to present its achievements, as it worked to return 7 disabled aircraft to service between 2023 and the beginning of 2024."
    He continued, "The company is still continuing the process of returning the idle aircraft to service one by one, as next May will witness the return of one of the important aircraft to service."
    Al-Safi confirmed that “the 2024 plan includes returning 10 aircraft to service, according to the directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani and the follow-up of the Minister of Transport.” 
    He pointed out, "There is a vision to open new routes for the Iraqi Airways Company, according to feasibility studies and available capabilities."
