    It demanded the human rights committee in the House of Representatives, on Sunday, the Ministry of Agriculture to stop recoveries ofloans granted to farmers in the province ofKirkuk, while confirming that the peasants do not have the necessary funds to meet thedebt as a result of stop farming their lands because of the control of the organization (Daash) on most areas of the province. 
    The head the Commission on human rights of the Council of Representatives, Salhi Arshad in an interview with(long - Presse), "we draw our demand to the Ministry of Agriculture and the Agricultural Bank General in Baghdad to stop recovery of loans granted to farmers in the province of Kirkuk to previous years , " noting that "agricultural land has been damaged by (Daash ) criminal whether they have been exposed to their occupation or steal their property or be affected by military operations which harmed the agricultural sector significantly and dangerous. " 
    He said Salhi, that" the loans received from the agricultural Bank was for the purpose of purchasing peasants seeds and mechanisms of agricultural supplies and today we find that a third of the area of Kirkuk predominantly Agricultural is under the control of the organization (Daash) or are the areas of military operations , "he said , adding," the Ministry of Agriculture and the Agricultural Bank calling peasants to pay thedebt owed ​​by the peasants of Kirkuk , they do not have the necessary funds to meet the debt as a result offarming their land stopped. "

    Iraqi government has launched a comprehensive initiative for the advancement of agricultural reality in thecountry in August of 2008, while the set time limit of ten years to reach the stage of Iraq self - sufficiency in strategic crops, the initiative includes , among other things, support farmers with seeds, fertilizers and pesticides, land reclamation and ensuring the purchase of production of strategic crops at market prices, inaddition to the allocation of a variety of loan funds , including palm - based and new development Fund, modern irrigation techniques, and livestock fund, the Fund for the purpose of supporting strategic projects, and fund lending to small farmers.
