Baqer al-Zubaidi reveals the manipulation of the Russian parliamentary elections 2014

    Editorial date: 2017/5/6

The leader of the Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council, Baqir Jabr al-Zubaidi for the manipulation of the Russian elections in the Iraqi Council of Representatives in 2014.
The United States accuses Russia of manipulating and intervening in the 2016 US presidential election in favor of incumbent President Donald Trump and French political forces have accused Moscow of trying to influence France's second and final presidential election next week.
"A Russian citizen, without revealing his identity, is manipulating the results of the Iraqi parliamentary elections in 2014," said Zubaidi, who held several cabinet posts in successive governments after 2003.
He added that this Russian person "deleted thousands of votes from political parties and figures in favor of others", adding that he "was personally harmed by this manipulation by deleting more than 130,000 votes," believing that "in the previous election he obtained 190 thousand votes."
Asked about the national settlement, Zubaidi said, "National reconciliation is necessary but my point of view is different."
He reiterated "the need for a settlement, but with whom? If it is a community settlement, it will produce new faces after the elections."
Zubaidi revealed his intention to run for the upcoming elections, but not within the Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council, without revealing the reasons for that.
