US Defense Secretary James Matisse said on Tuesday that his country would take all measures to protect its forces in Syria.
"We will take all measures to protect our forces in Syria," Matis was quoted as saying by the Russian daily Al-Akhbar.
Matisse added that the US bombing of the Syrian government forces was "in self-defense"
