Russia confirms commitment of OPEC members to the Vienna agreement

Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said Monday that the commitment of OPEC member states and independent producers to the Vienna agreement reached 98 percent last June.
"The countries participating in the agreement have shown an unprecedented level of discipline and commitment, which is close to 100% within six months, and even some countries have exceeded their commitment by 100%," Novak said in a press statement.
"350 million barrels of oil have been absorbed in six months thanks to the deal, which cuts production by 1.8 million barrels per day from the world market, which is oversupplied," he said.
