He added that one of the French companies competent had prepared the engineering designs for the project through the adoption of international standards and standards, explaining that it is one of the strategic projects that will constitute a quantum leap in land transport in the country. Regarding the obstacles facing the project, Omran confirmed that the acquisition of the land on which the railway will be built is still one of the main obstacles to the project, especially since it will pass through many areas. The land must be at the disposal of the Ministry of Transport. .
For his part, the decision of the Baghdad Metro Committee and the assistant director of the real estate department in the Secretariat expert Najim Abdul Jawid to »morning» that the Secretariat began to develop a plan for the acquisition of land through a special committee to determine the price of space in line with the market, revealing at the same time, the formation of another committee Headed by the secretary of Baghdad, Dr. Zekri Alloush and the membership of the agents of the ministries of finance, planning and transport, to find financial outlets for the project, including the transfer of investment or allocation of funds by the State.
He said that the implementation of the metro will be in a hidden drill depth of 25 meters underground and 6 meters width of each track, so as not to affect the infrastructure in the capital, adding that it will be established in the first two lines branching into two directions, one of which extends from Sadr City to Beirut Square, And the second direction continues to pass through the area of ​​Bab al-Mu'adham and then Al-Adhamiya, passing through the royal cemetery and reaching Kadhimiya.
He pointed out that the second line starts from the yard of Uqba bin Nafie towards the National Theater and up to Saadoun Mara Street in Al Wathba, Spinning Market, International Station and Al Zawra Park ending in Al Bayaa area, pointing out that the areas of Daoudi, Mansour and Al Bayaa will be a shelter for locomotives for maintenance and maintenance.
