Jordan's King Abdullah II on Monday met with US Defense Secretary James Matisse in the presence of King Faisal bin Al Hussein.
According to the Jordanian Petra Agency, the two sides discussed military and defense cooperation between the two countries and the support provided by the United States to the Kingdom in these fields.
The meeting also focused on the current situation in the Middle East, especially the Syrian crisis and the developments in Iraq, the developments related to the war strategy of the terrorist organization "Da'ash", as well as the areas of reducing tension in Syria and Al-Raqqa operations.
The two sides reviewed the repercussions of the Syrian refugee crisis, which poses an economic, social and security challenge for Jordan.
During the meeting, the relative stability in the areas of tension reduction in the Syrian south has been noted so far.
He stressed the support of the US administration for Jordan and its desire to provide all possible means to increase this support to help the Kingdom to meet the challenges.
