    faq News / The Cabinet held its regular session on Wednesday 6 September 2017 headed by Prime Minister Haider Abadi.
    During the meeting, he discussed Iraq's stance on the serious human rights violations against the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar, while Dr. Abadi called for a firm international stance towards them as a special humanitarian issue, especially that the Iraqis have already been consumed by the fires of tyranny, repression and genocide.
    Dr. Abbadi gave a brief summary of the latest political and security developments and the ongoing preparations for liberating the remaining Iraqi land and sustaining the momentum of the victories.
    The Cabinet discussed the issues on the agenda and issued the following resolutions:
    The Council of Ministers approved the regulatory and national quality policy in Iraq with regard to the safety of locally produced goods and services imported according to international standards.
    The Council also voted on the project for the care of victims of human trafficking.
    The Cabinet approved the tasks and mechanism of the Higher Committee for Investment and Reconstruction.
    In order to facilitate the return and stability of displaced persons, particularly in Nineveh province, the Council approved the recommendations of the 4th session of the Civil Crisis Management Cell.
    With regard to the development of the marshes, the Cabinet approved a legal amendment on the project to establish 130 schools in the marshes.
    The Council of Ministers voted to approve the establishment of a civil college (Al-Manara College of Medical Sciences) in Maysan Governorate.
    The Council also approved the amendment of the paragraph concerning the decision of the Council of Ministers to form a committee to monitor the implementation of projects funded by the British loan.
    The council also discussed organizing the return of Iraqi pilgrims.
