The Cabinet approved the tasks and mechanisms of the Supreme Committee for Investment and Reconstruction, which the Council has already formed to deal with the core and strategic issues, especially those related to investment promotion, drawing up plans for major reconstruction projects,
Saad al-Hadithi, spokesman for the prime minister's media office, said the committee would follow up on infrastructure projects, natural resource extraction projects, ports, airports, roads, railways, mineral and petrochemical industries, dams, reservoirs and irrigation. Al-Hadithi added, "The committee will continue to analyze and study the obstacles facing the investment process in order to remove them and have the authority to instruct the National Investment Authority to grant investment licenses if the requirements and legal conditions of the projects submitted to the committee are met."
