    Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Mohamed Shiaa al-Sudani discussed with the advisor of the Chinese embassy in Baghdad the importance of implementing the industrial cities projects and organizing the entry of foreign workers into Iraq. 

    Al-Sudani stressed the importance of informing the Chinese side of the details of the establishment of industrial cities projects for their great importance in implementing projects that serve the country and contribute to finding job opportunities to reduce unemployment and support the national economy. 

    He expressed the hope that these initiatives will be more serious and translate into reality to expand the opportunities for industrial cooperation between Iraqi companies and their Chinese counterparts to benefit the two countries and benefit their peoples.

    The two sides discussed ways to enhance industrial cooperation and investment opportunities in the industrial field. The minister expressed keenness of the government and its interest in cooperation with the Chinese side in the development of various industrial sectors, especially the industrial cities projects, stressing the direction of the Ministry of Industry towards investment with foreign companies, After achieving the appropriate completion rates in their implementation within the allocations of the investment plan for previous years, which was stopped because of the financial distress experienced by the country.
     
    For his part, the advisor of the Chinese Embassy, ​​"his country's keenness to strengthen bilateral relations and industrial cooperation with Iraq, expressing the desire of Chinese companies to work in Iraq and contribute to the ongoing construction and reconstruction campaigns," noting that China has a great experience and experience in the field of industrial cities, In addition to the exchange of experience and the transfer of experiences and development of human resources. " 

    He also discussed the issue of Chinese labor in Iraq, calling on the Ministry of Labor To reconsider the amounts of fees for the granting of work permits to Chinese workers.

    Al-Sudani pointed out that the Ministry of Labor granted work permits to many expatriate workers from experts and employees within the investment contracts approved by the Council of Ministers by Decree No. 80 of 2013, and has identified possible ways to simplify procedures for the work of all investment companies without exception, that you are facing. 

    He called on the Chinese companies to provide the Ministry with lists of names of expatriate workers, with the need to employ Iraqi labor at 50% of the total number of workers required, and registered in the Department of Pension and Social Security of workers, and direct investment entrepreneurs already exist in cooperation with the teams and allow them to enter the sites and install the reality The status of the work movement in each project.
