Oil prices rose to $ 64 per barrel on Saturday, but fell below peak levels during the session as financial markets hit.
Global Brent crude rose to $ 64.32 a barrel, a day after the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and other oil producers agreed to extend a production cut by the end of next year to cut supplies and boost prices.
Global Brent crude futures settled at $ 63.73 a barrel at a February close, up 16 cents from the end of January. February contracts rose 1.8 percent from the close of the previous session.
US West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose 96 cents, or 1.7 percent, to $ 58.36 a barrel in the settlement. The January WTI contract will not end until 19 December. Ending / 25 g
